Crossbow archery 2009

heller & partner 'Cabinet meeting' at the Oktoberfest

When politics, business and Bavarian love of life coincide, entertainment is for sure. This year's heller & partner crossbow archery event at the Oktoberfest has become a small cabinet meeting together with high-ranking business representatives – but of course, in safe distance from the Bavarian state chancellery.

Minister of Internal Affairs Joachim Herrmann calmed people down: “The Bavarian police sees to the greatest possible security at the Oktoberfest – enjoy it!“ Finance minister Georg Fahrenschon assured: “During the coalition negotiations we will fight for an implementation of our suggestions for the credit of the citizens.“ Then Fahrenschon immediately hit a bull’s eye with the crossbow. “A good omen for the talks in Berlin.“

Minister of Justice Beate Merk had the subject of consumer protection on the agenda: “I have just visited Simba Dickie in Fürth. This is a model company of the toy industry. Simba Dickie takes consumer protection seriously and does it exemplarily for this line of business.“ Then she was especially unerring with the crossbow and won in the "hard" shooting match.

A soothing smile shows on the face of BMW Germany boss Karsten Engel: “With our sales in Germany we are well on the move. Demand for our BMW EfficientDynamics models is especially high.“ Jan Klatten heard this news with pleasure. Michael Rahe, Head of the BMW Munich branch, says subtly: “Well, it’s clear that you get driving pleasure only with BMW.“

Lufthansa executive Karl Ulrich Garnadt and airport boss Michael Kerkloh agree with each other: The Munich airport needs a third runway. “The passengers’ figures are already rising again and mobility will always remain a basic human need worldwide.“

“For the industrial location of Bavaria the growth of the Munich airport is an absolute driver“, this was the political statement from the Ministry of the Interior by state secretary Bernd Weiß.

And Minister of Science Wolfgang Heubisch is obviously proud of the cultural metropolis Munich. “What there is here in museums, exhibits and art offers has the highest international standing. We will further expand this.”

Among about 200 guests there were: member of the board of Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Anton Hummer, vice president of FC Bayern Fritz Scherer, Charlotte Knobloch, chairwoman of the board of the central council of the Jews in Germany, GE Europe boss Georg Knoth, member of the board of Schörghuber Stiftung & Co. Holding KG Robert Salzl with his hotel boss Christian Böll. “This is the best part of the Oktoberfest“, says chief executive Klaus Josef Lutz from BayWa gladly.
