Yo-Yo: it’s how young people play
The portfolio of toys has become universal. Yet electronic toys dominated the buying decisions of the youth, the classic world of toys is anything but uncool. “On the one hand youth is virtual, on the other hand it’s real.”, Axel Dammler sums it up.
The 46-years old Munich citizen is CEO of iconkids & youth, the biggest special institute for children- and youth research in Germany. Real games are still popular: there belong card games and puzzles to it, just as special-interest-area like remote-controlled cars and modelbuilding.
Dammler provides an important insight for the toy producer: “The game producer shouldn’t make their life harder than necessary. Games have not to be styled teen, they can remain traditional. Finally it’s important if the game is good or not. And young people see through it very fast.”
