More than toys: Simba Dickie at the Toy Fair 2012
The International Toy Fair is the largest industry event and one of the biggest major business indicators. The Simba Dickie Group had a special novelty in range: The board game “Die Geissens”. And at the same time a classic that is a long-running for 40 years: the BIG BOBBY CAR.
The idea came from a product manager. Michael Sieber were able to inspire Carmen and Robert Geiss for the idea two weeks before the fair started. Then the enigmatic pair from the eponymous TV reality docu-soap had become godfather for the game concept.
From the classic BIG BOBBY CAR there have been sold over 17 million copies since 1972 and there is no end in sight: Each day, 2000 BIG-BOBBY- CAR roll off the assembly line from the ultra-modern production in Burghaslach, Franconia.
The Simba Dickie Group showed top sellers and more novelties like Fillys elves and Baby Nurse on seven stands.
But there is another jubilee in the SIMBA DICKIE family: Schuco is 100 years old. To mark the jubilee, Schuco offers special limited editions. At the fair there was an extraordinary original at the stand: A Mercedes W25 from 1936.
