Honored and celebrated
For some winners it was the most beautiful day of their life, for the jury members it was the experience of cooperation across genre boundaries and for the guests it was an unforgettable evening full of highlights: conferred by the GEMA now for the third time, the German Music Author Price 2011 honored musicians for their excellent work.
The current issue of the GEMA members magazine „virtuos„ devoted its cover story this highlight. Annette Humpe, together with her partner, Abdel El-Tawil, from the duo "Ich + Ich", who won the award in the category of "pop composition", graces the cover. With good reason: the duo enriches german pop with poetic texts and takes music to the heart.
virtuos has long established itself as organ of the industry. Objectively, professionally but also entertainingly prepared informs the members’ magazine about news of the music industry. The magazine is published quarterly and is distributed worldwide. And it is well received by the readers! That is the result of a reader survey, which can be found in the current issue.
In this issue there are also a lot of information and interesting facts - for instance for events such as the Echo 2011, political developments affecting the music market, or hot topics such as "interactive composition“ - a development that could revolutionize the music industry. Per 24-hour live stream fans could virtually be in the London Metropolis Studios, when the musicians of the U.S. band "Maroon5" recorded a new song.
A special column is " Eine runde Sache“, where the GEMA members congratulate each issue, celebrating a milestone birthday. And that is not only personally! Rather, friends and companions have their say. And like Udo Lindenberg, with its now 65 years, has a lot of them... The current members of the Panikorchester, composers and Serkan Kaya, who plays the role of Udo Lindenberg congratulate Udo Lindenberg in the current issue of the virtuos.
