Congratulations
The “virtuos” easily manages what many other membership magazines still struggle with: to broadly inform and playfully entertain readers both at the same time and still adhering to high journalistic standards. This well-documented success story all started in December 2008 with the first edition of the GEMA membership magazine being published. Since then, a lot has been refined with regards to content as well as appearance and publishing formats, the digital e-paper version of the magazine only being the tip of the iceberg. With the booklet, the GEMA stunningly manages both to inform its readers about the latest achievements of the German Society for Musical Performing Rights and Mechanical Reproduction Rights and to create even closer links with its subscribers and readers. It is heller & partner that cares for the editorial office, the design and the production of the “virtuos” magazine.
In recent years, the magazine “virtuos” has become “the mouthpiece of the branch”. More than 60.000 GEMA members not only get accurate and professional information about relevant issues but also interesting features about current trends and news of the music business. At the same time, members, mostly composers, songwriters and music publishers, find out everything they need to know about the basics of the GEMA work, the business year or how to get funding for their work. Additionally, the magazine includes valuable advice on how to register their work and to submit their work online, in short all that is relevant to their lives as people dealing with music.
The last edition of the year traditionally puts the bestsellers of the annual music charts at the spotlight. Thus the cover of the current “virtuos” shows the highly successful “Der Graf” who managed to get top placements for various songs in different chart categories. Last but not least there is one thing that not a single edition misses out on:: The GEMA and their members themselves. They take centre stage again and again, be it in terms of birthday wishes, introduction of different GEMA sections or members’ descriptions of personal impressions about their first long-playing record. Yet this is what GEMA constitutes of in the end:
its members that all feel passionate about music.
