ADAC awards the "Yellow Angels 2012"
At the beginning of the year in a now eight-year tradition awards ADAC, the largest automobile club in Germany, at Munich “Allerheiligen-Hofkirche”, the most coveted award in the industry, the "Yellow Angel". The price is the result of a survey conducted by the ADAC, in which 330 000 internet users and readers of the magazine ADAC” Motorwelt” participated. In the price categories "car", "quality", "future", "innovation and environment" were a total of 40 models available.
With X5 BMW ensured the first place in the category "quality". Just like last year CEO of BMW AG, Dr. Norbert Reithofer, received the prize again. Already last year, the Munich car company was glad about the award "Car 2011" for the BMW 5. The result in the quality category is besides the satisfaction of the customer based on the ADAC-breakdown statistics. Here the BMW X5 convinced because of its high reliability and breakdown resistance.
Daimler CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche, who was honored for his commitment to alternative fuels, received the “Yellow Angel”. The award was awarded by the winner of last year, Bernhard Mattes, CEO of Ford.
Among the guests were, besides the representatives of the car industry, Federal Transport Minister Peter Ramsauer (CSU) and the comedian Django Asül. Chairman Peter Meyer claimed the political support for commuters who depend on the car in his speech: “Somebody who depends on the car because of his job, cannot be thwarted by the state. A fair adjustment of the distance rate could help”, appealed Meyer.
