Whether it is the thesis of the Pirate Party or the current judgment from Hamburg concerning YouTube - the protection of intellectual property is more and more controversially discussed in public. For those who create such intellectual property and make a living out of it, the GEMA acts as a state-approved trustee. The task of giving established information, enabling a frequent dialogue and for this reason obligating their members even more to the organization, renders the GEMA members` magazine virtuos - with flying colors for years.

Congratulations

The “virtuos” easily manages what many other membership magazines still struggle with: to broadly inform and playfully entertain readers both at the same time and still adhering to high journalistic standards. This well-documented success story all started in December 2008 with the first edition of the GEMA membership magazine being published. Since then, a lot has been refined with regards to content as well as appearance and publishing formats, the digital e-paper version of the magazine only being the tip of the iceberg. With the booklet, the GEMA stunningly manages both to inform its readers about the latest achievements of the German Society for Musical Performing Rights and Mechanical Reproduction Rights and to create even closer links with its subscribers and readers. It is heller & partner that cares for the editorial office, the design and the production of the “virtuos” magazine.

A branch magazine at its best!

The current issue of virtuos is different – even more structured and more pleasant to read, more journalistic and more informative. Attentive readers will realize immediately: The GEMA member magazine has progressed in terms of content as well as stylistics and certainly belongs to the high class of branch magazines.

Honored and celebrated

For some winners it was the most beautiful day of their life, for the jury members it was the experience of cooperation across genre boundaries and for the guests it was an unforgettable evening full of highlights: conferred by the GEMA now for the third time, the German Music Author Price 2011 honored musicians for their excellent work. The current issue of the GEMA members magazine „virtuos„ devoted its cover story this highlight. Annette Humpe, together with her partner, Abdel El-Tawil, from the duo "Ich + Ich", who won the award in the category of "pop composition", graces the cover. With good reason: the duo enriches german pop with poetic texts and takes music to the heart.

Music is the healer and a fairy

With these almost poetic words Ulla Meinecke raves about her profession in the GEMA members magazine virtuos. In this edition of virtuos the title story is dedicated to the German songwriter. The reason is not only that Ulla Meinecke is considered a pioneer of her profession. She is also a jury member at the third edition of „Deutscher Musikautorenpreis“. Of course virtuos informs the more than 60,000 GEMA members about this important honour for the most fascinating composers and lyricists, introduces the jury members and names the price categories.

GEMA shows its true self

With a print run of 59.000 magazines, virtuos – the magazine for members of the GEMA – reaches readers all over the world and offers features, news from the business, pure entertainment as well as hard facts. The most recent edition of virtuos puts the GEMA members and the people itself in the focus. The cover of the magazine is the best proof for that.
