Flughafen München GmbH (FMG) operates the second largest German and eight major European airport. FMG shareholders of the Free State of Bavaria (51%), the Federal Republic of Germany (26%) and the city of Munich (23%). The FMG is in conjunction with numerous subsidiaries in the five business aviation, real estate management and development, retail and service, ground handling and terminal 2 operates.

The steadily increasing demand for air connections for passengers and cargo at Munich Airport makes a development imperative. It is planned to start a third runway.
